John Rustad, born in 1963, is a Canadian politician and the current leader of the BC Conservative Party. He left the BC United party (BC Liberal Party) in 2022 due to a disagreement with its leader, Kevin Falcon, over statements about climate change.
Within six months, the BC Conservative Party gained official party status as the fourth recognized political party in British Columbia, following the BC United, NDP, and Green Party. The party has attracted many candidates with diverse backgrounds, including former RCMP officers, veterans, doctors, lawyers, and others.
